This interactive course will remove the "boring" or "intimidation" factor associated with learning about numbers by engaging you in hands-on activities that provide a solid understanding of authentic community association financial record-keeping and reporting.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

 

- Differentiate between the roles and responsibilities of the community manager, board members and accounting professionals as they relate to the association’s financial documents;

 

- Understand essential accounting terminology and concepts necessary for financial literacy;

 

Read, locate and summarize information found on financial documents;

- Locate critical information found on the general ledger and year-end financial statements;

 

 - Interpret financial statements to recognize potential issues and determine what, if any, necessary actions need to be taken; and

 

- Effectively summarize, explain and/or answer questions that might arise regarding association financial statements.
