CMM121 Principles of California Law: Module I

Explore the numerous laws that define California's Common Interest Developments (CID), including how to define and enforce the rights and responsibilities of boards, members and management. Identify and understand the legal remedies available to you when problems cannot be resolved. A Condo Bluebook is included with course materials.

CMM122 Financial Management: Module II

Learn about the financial operations of a CID and practice working with balance sheets, revenue and expense statements, variance reports and other financial records. This course will take you through basic accounting principles, required financial disclosures, assessment collection principles, and state reporting requirements. It will also prepare you to answer many financial questions that arise at board meetings.

CMM123 Community Management: Module III

This course explores the many facets of working with independent contractors, risk management and property maintenance. You will learn how to manage contract issues and environmental concerns related to facilities maintenance and more.

CMM124 Meetings and Records: Module IV

Annual meetings, monthly board meetings, special meetings – it's a lot to keep straight. You will explore how to prepare for, notice and conduct a variety of CID meetings. You will also define appropriate record retention policies. This course will give you the confidence to prepare the best possible agendas and minutes.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS SERIES?

·         New community managers or accounting personnel (CMM122)

·         Community managers who want to earn the CCAM or CAFM certification


PREREQUISITES

None, at least six months of community management experience is recommended.


CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEUS)

This series is required for CCAM or CAFM certification; this course is not eligible for CEUs

COURSE LENGTH

This series is made up of four, four-hour modules and 4 exams
