This interactive course
will introduce you to the information and resources necessary to effectively manage
commercial and industrial CIDs and commercial sub-associations within mixed-use
and industrial subdivisions. Learn many best practices of industry
professionals while acquiring a toolkit of resources for future use.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Understand the
differences between subdivisions as defined by Davis-Stirling Common Interest
Development Act and those governed by the Commercial and Industrial Common
Interest Development Act;
- Identify California
Bureau of Real Estate city and county requirements for establishing and
managing a commercial CID;
- Become familiar with
different commercial CID types and the unique management responsibilities
associated with each;
- Successfully address
the unique challenges of subdivisions that house commercial businesses combined
with residential units;
- Understand the
regulations relating to live/work unit activities;
- Understand terms and
definitions that are unique to commercial and industrial CIDs;
- Describe the manager’s
role and understand the business experience, financial background and knowledge
expected of the manager when working with owners of commercial CIDs

This is an advanced-level course. Members must hold a valid CCAM or CAFM in order to satisfy the course pre-requisite.
