The California department of fair employment and housing is enacting fair housing regulations for the first time: do you know what is about to happen?
The DFEH is in the process of adopting Regulations interpreting the State Fair Housing laws, including:
• Assistance animals
• The Request and Verification process for Reasonable Accommodation of Disabilities
• Harassment
• Retaliation
• Criminal History
• Various types of Discrimination, including discriminatory effect
• Liability for discrimination
Managers of all levels will become familiar with what the new Regulations require, how the new Regulations will impact managers, and what policies need to be adopted by associations to best work with the new Regulations.
